Terms of Service

1. Acceptance and Eligibility

By downloading, creating an account in, or using the Appreciety app (the "App"), you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, you must not use the App. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App; if you are under 18, you must use it with the knowledge and consent of your parent or legal guardian.

2. Account and Security

To use most features of the App you need an account created with an e-mail address and password, or with your Google or Apple account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, the confidentiality of your password, and everything done with your account. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, you must contact us.

3. User Content and Licence

The places, photos, ratings, reviews, routes and other content you add to the App ("User Content") remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to host, display and share this content with other users within the App and to promote the App. You decide who can see your content (public, followers only, private) through your preferences in the App; we do not go beyond the scope you choose. You confirm that the content you share is within your legal rights and does not infringe the rights of others.

4. Prohibited Conduct

While using the App you may not: share obscene, violent, harassing, hateful or misleading content; send spam; impersonate another person or organization; create fake accounts; collect data from the App with automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission; or try to disrupt the security or operation of the App. If conduct that breaks these rules is found, the related content may be removed and your account may be suspended or closed.

5. Content Moderation

A moderation team reviews reviews and places reported by other users; content found to break the rules is removed. In addition, photos you upload pass through an automated image-analysis system (Google Cloud Vision) before they are added to the App to detect obscene or violent content; the system automatically rejects images it finds inappropriate. Accounts that seriously break the rules may be banned, and a banned account cannot access the App. Because of the nature of this review process, we cannot guarantee that every accepted item fully complies with the rules.

6. Permissions

Adding places, discovering them and creating routes optionally need access to your location; adding photos needs access to your gallery (the photo picker). We ask for these permissions only when you use the related feature, and you can withdraw them at any time in your device settings (the related feature may then stop working). Allowing notifications keeps you up to date with follows, comments and invitations; you can turn notifications off in your device settings.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses Google Maps/Places for maps and place search, Google and Apple sign-in for signing in, Supabase for data storage, Vercel for server hosting, Firebase (Google) and Apple for anonymous usage statistics, crash reporting and push notifications, and Resend for sending e-mail. Those services' own terms and privacy policies apply; we cannot be held responsible for problems arising from their outages or changes.

8. Account Security and Two-Step Verification

You are responsible for the security of your account. If you wish, you can turn on verification with a code e-mailed to you at sign-in (two-step verification) in settings. You must not share verification codes with anyone; we cannot be held responsible for problems arising from actions taken with shared codes.

9. Invitation and Sharing Links

Route, list and friend invitation links let people who have the link see a summary of the related content. You are responsible for whom you send a link to. You can revoke route invitation links at any time; revoked links stop working and do not affect people who have already joined the route.

10. Intellectual Property

The Appreciety name, its logo and the App itself (excluding User Content) belong to us. You may not copy, modify or use them for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is", and we do not guarantee that it will work without interruption or errors. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we cannot be held responsible for indirect damages that may arise from using the App. This section does not limit your non-waivable rights under consumer protection law.

12. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Settings → Delete Account). This cannot be undone. Your personal data is deleted or anonymised as described in the "Retention and Account Deletion" section of the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For important changes we will notify you within the App; the current version is always published on this screen.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye; Turkish courts and enforcement offices have jurisdiction over any disputes.
